The 2014 Annual Update, sponsored by...

Once again I turn to this poor neglected blog that I've called home for the past three years for my annual update, but this year I bring some actual news about the future of this blog. First, what have I been upto this year?

Once again I haven't had much of a chance to post much on this site, although I did manage to post a 'My Thoughts On' feature in last July. Recently I've graduated from Newport Film School and during the last year or so I have been working as a freelance Boom operator and production mixer on a variety of corporate and short films.

In fact the busiest I've been is during February and March where I had the pleasure of working on four short films for various companies and three corporate videos for Fifty One Productions. During these months I was finishing one production and then would immediately begin working on the next shoot. Below I've listed the four shot films I worked on;

Slipping between reality and fantasy, A Mermaid's Tail explores the journey of Meredith, a young woman whose life has been engulfed with tradedy from early in her childhood.
Duties included Boom Operator and Sound Mixer on a short film.

A tale of love naive takes a surreal turn when Tim's writer's block leads him to investigate Chloe's mysterious.
Duties included Boom Operator, Sound Mixer and Duding Editor on a short film.

A comedy following the Marvelous Martin and his assistant as they attempt the cursed Victorian trick: The Bullet Catch.

Dealing with the reality of her brain tumour, 10-year-old Alexa excapes into her own imagination. Taking charge she becomes the hero of her own story.
Duties included Sound Mixer and Recordist on a short film.

Sadly, most of these project are currently making the festival circuit and are not available online, such as Scales as pictured above, a handful of corporate videos can be found on the Fifty One Productions website, as linked below.

I mentioned at the begining of this post that I would bring some "actual news about the future of this blog." But what does this mean to the site? Since this blog mostly goes unattended because of work I've decided to let this blog go and move on... Over the past couple of months I've been hard at work on a entirely new site built from the ground up, with the sole purpose of showcasing my work. It's nearly ready to lunch but in the mean-time here is a teaser of what's to come.

There's a bright future for us, I can tell.
 Of course this means that this site will be left to be forgotten, but I will post the link on this blog onces its up. Don't worry there will be a blog and I'll start to post more frequent 'My Thoughts On,' I've even written a handful this year ready to be posted. So look towards the future as the new site will hopefully lunch before September. Anyway, thank you for reading! See you soon.
